# sk181859 - Traffic does not pass through the bridge interface in cluster HA environment on SMB appliance

## Symptoms

- * Traffic does not pass through the bridge interface in cluster HA environment on SMB appliance configured in High Availability (HA) Bridge mode after upgrade to R81.10.x
* The `cphaprob -a if` command shows that one of the bridge interfaces is Inbound: UP and Outbound: DOWN
* MAC address flapping occurs between cluster members when a bridge interface is configured in the cluster.

## Solution

A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing it.  
For faster resolution and verification, collect these files:

1. [CPinfo](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk92739) file from the Management Server involved in the case.
2. [CPinfo](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk92739) file from the Security Gateway / each Cluster Member involved in the case.

After the hotfix/upgrade package has been installed and device rebooted, follow these steps:

1. Edit the `$FWDIR/boot/modules/fwkern.conf` file with VI editor.
2. Add a line "`fwha_default_unicast_mode=0`"
3. Save the file
4. Reboot.
