## Symptoms

- * The Hardware Diagnostics on Boot menu fails with "Spec test Failed".
* The `SPEC_TEST_(date-time).log` file on the Diagnostics result has these lines: `Testing hdsize...
  > Unable to find info (11003,1020)-hdsize in the providers array
  > Spec tested. Status: Failed`
* The `DISK_TEST_(date-time).log` and `LONG_DISK_TEST_(date-time).log` files on the Diagnostics result show all the hard disk tests passed.

## Cause

1. The "hdsize" is defined in the below section of `/etc/appliance_config.xml` on the appliance. It can be updated when upgrading to new major version or installing a Jumbo Hotfix take.

`<param name="hdsize">`
`<operand>240</operand>`
`<operator>ge</operator>`
` <info_prov>1020</info_prov>`
`<info>11003</info>`
`</param>`

2. But the Hardware Diagnostics Tool on the Boot menu is updated only when you install a new major version (as in R81.10 or R81.20).
