# sk181724 - "Failed to authenticate. System error." in Remote Access VPN client when users fail to connect

## Symptoms

- * Remote Access VPN users cannot connect to resources located behind a Remote Access VPN Gateway.
* This error message appears in a popup window in the Remote Access VPN client:   
  "*Failed to authenticate. System error*".

## Cause

The Security Gateway uses an LDAP server for Remote Access VPN user authentication. An administrator of the LDAP server changed its fingerprint. An administrator of the Management Server did not change its fingerprint to match the LDAP server's fingerprint.
