# sk181693 - Threat Prevention Policy Installation Fails with the Error "Policy installation is not supported for the target"

## Symptoms

- Threat Prevention policy installation fails with this error: "*Policy installation is not supported for the target*".

## Cause

Threat Prevention policy is enabled in the policy package, but the Threat Prevention blades are not enabled on the target Security Gateway.

## Solution

If you want to use the Threat Prevention policy, enable the Threat Prevention Blades on the Security Gateway:  

1. Open the Security Gateway object.
2. Go to General Properties \> Threat Prevention.
3. Enable Autonomous Threat Prevention, or Custom Threat Prevention. If you select Custom Threat Prevention, enable the relevant software blades.
4. Click OK.
5. Install policy.

If you do not want to use the Threat Prevention policy, remove it from the policy package:  

1. In SmartConsole, go to Menu \> Manage Policies and Layers \> navigate to the relevant security policy.
2. Click Edit.
3. Clear the checkbox next to Threat Prevention.
4. Click OK.
5. Install policy.
