# sk181537 -  The "Get Interfaces" function excludes loopback interfaces when generating the list of interfaces for Network Management

## Symptoms

- * When using the "Get Interfaces" command in SmartConsole, it does not retrieve loopback interfaces.
* When you use the "Get Interfaces" function in SmartConsole, any manually configured loopback interfaces in Network Management are removed from the list of interfaces.

## Cause

* `Get interfaces`are designed to retrieve only interfaces that can be configured in the Security Managment Server.  

* Interfaces that lack assigned IP addresses, such as `0.0.0.0` or the local loopback address `127.0.0.1`, cannot be configured and consequently cannot be retrieved. This also extends to loopback interfaces, which are in the same category of unconfigurable and unretrievable network interfaces
