# sk181446 - Collecting Domain Management Server backups hangs for some time

## Symptoms

- * When you back up a domain in a Multi-Domain Security Management server, as in [sk156072](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk156072), the API command hangs at 5% for some time before it is complete.

* When running the script */opt/CPsuite-R8X.xx/fw1/scripts/collect_upgrade_log_files.sh* directly, it takes a long time, like the back up that hangs take.

* Domain Management Servers have many migrate log files stored in: */opt/CPmds-R8X/customers//CPshrd-R8X/log/migrate\*.log*.

* The backup works as expected after a reboot or restart, but only for the first back up collected. The next back up again take longer to complete.

## Cause

Each back up operation creates a migrate log in the related Domain Management Server. At the start of a back up collection, it calls the script *collect_upgrade_log_files.sh,* which collects all those logs from all domains. if there are many migrate log files (as there are many domains and many logs on each domain), this step takes longer and longer.
