# sk181390 - VPN negotiation between Large Scale Management (LSM) and satellite Security Gateways fails with "Main mode sent notification to Peer: invalid id information"

## Symptoms

- * After a migration to a new Large Scale Management (LSM) appliance, VPN negotiation with satellite Security Gateways fails during Phase 1.
* When the VPN peers try to re-establish the VPN tunnel, this error appears: "*Main mode sent notification to Peer: invalid id information*."

## Cause

The `LSMenabler `parameter is not enabled in the LSM appliance / all cluster members.

## Solution

### Procedure

**Step 1: On the CLI of the LSM appliance
Note -** For a cluster, do this on all cluster members.  

1. In Gaia Clish, run:  
   `# LSMenabler on`
2. If you are prompted to enable LSM and restart Check Point services, enter "`y`" to do so. After the restart, continue to Step 2.  

**Step 2: In SmartConsole for the LSM appliance**   

1. In the upper left, click **Menu** \> **SmartProvisioning** .The**SmartProvisioning** window opens.
2. Click **Menu** \>**Actions** \> **Update Selected Corporate Office Gateway** .

3. Install policy.
