# sk181359 - "This host does not have any RIP neighbor" error when running 'show rip neighbors' command on the standby member after an upgrade

## Symptoms

- * After an upgrade to R81 and higher, the command `show rip neighbors` on the standby member shows this output: `This host does not have any RIP neighbor`.
* The output of `show rip neighbors` on the active member shows the RIP neighbors.
* RIP routes are received on both the active and standby members.
* The command `show rip interfaces`, shows the cluster VIP address as the RIP IP address on both members.

## Cause

Starting from R80.40, the RIP route sync mechanism was changed from "sending RIP cluster messages" to "**k** ernel **r** oute **s** ync" (KRT sync).  
KRT sync does not support sending neighbor gateway entries to the standby so the neighbor information is only available on the master (not synced to the standby).  

The feature was integrated to R81.
