## Symptoms

- * The "*Failed to upload Appscan file* " error occurs in SmartConsole when an *.xml* file is uploaded manually.
* The Application Scan Push Operation fails to upload an *.xml* file.
* In server_messages:
  Failed to upload applications xml for DA_APPLICATION_SCAN push operation
  Caused by: com.checkpoint.uepm.api.epsbackend.is.EpsBackendException:
  Caused by: org.apache.xmlbeans.XmlException: Error parsing scan.xml file

## Cause

The `cpinfo\SA\Files\Windows\System32\Zonelabs\scan.xml` file is missing the `MD5ChecksumHex tag` for one of the applications.

For example, the `MD5ChecksumHex tag` is missing a tag for the application:
`C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Update\GoogleUpdate.exe` in the `scan.xml` file: ![](https://sc1.checkpoint.com/sc/SolutionsStatics/NEW_SK_NOID1689850494492/missingmd5checksum202307200700281.png)
