## Symptoms

- * After adding an available appliance to an existing Maestro Security Group, nothing happens on the appliance.

* The */var/log/messages* file on the SMO Security Group Member contains this line:

`FW-1: fwha_smo_del_blade_membership: [SMO]: Revoked cluster membership from member <SiteID_MemberID>`
* The */var/log/messages* file on the Orchestrator contains these lines:

  `
  <Date Time> <Security_Group_Name> sgm_pmd: REST request failed, IP ssm<X>`
  `
  <Date Time> <Security_Group_Name> sgm_pmd: Failed to pull ports links state, IP ssm<X>`
  `
<Date Time> <Security_Group_Name> sgm_pmd: Failed to get ports link state from SSM <X>`
  `
<Date Time> <Security_Group_Name> sgm_pmd: Failed to get ports link state from SSM <X>
  `

## Cause

The Network Interface Card used by the new appliance to connect to the Orchestrator is different from the NIC used by the existing Security Group Members.

By design, all appliances within the same Maestro Security Group must use the same Network Interface Card type.

This is not related to mixed appliance environments. Different appliance models may include different NIC types or models
