## Symptoms

- Dell has released Security Advisory DSA-2023-098 for Multiple Improper SMM Communication Buffer Verification Vulnerabilities.

The proprietary CVE is **CVE-2023-25537** .

## Solution

This article applies to these Smart-1 appliance models:  

* Smart-1 5050
* Smart-1 5150
* Smart-1 6000-L
* Smart-1 6000-XL

For the products above, local access is necessary. An attacker needs local access to the Security Gateway and expert privilege to exploit this vulnerability. Because the attacker does not have local access with Admin/Expert privilege,**Check Point appliances are not vulnerable to this issue** .
