# sk180946 - Unable to delete a Pre-R80 Gateway object managed by an R80.10 or above Management Server

## Symptoms

- * When attempting to delete a Pre-R80 Gateway object, that has IPS enabled, we are unable to since it's used in an IPS rule as the '`Installation Target`'  

* We are unable to delete the IPS rule as the '`Delete`' option is grayed-out. Also to option to remove the Gateway object from the '`Installation Targets`' is greyed out as well.  

* When attempting to use the option from the Gateway --\> '`Where used`' --\> '`Replace`', we get the following error:  

  "`Traditional IPS rule cannot be changed`"

## Cause

It's expected to have these IPS rules for Pre-R80 Gateways and for the option to manually delete the rule to be greyed-out.
