# sk180893 - The policy installed on the VSX Cluster (VS0) drops traffic that a Virtual System in the Standby state sends to the Internet

## Symptoms

- * The policy installed on the VSX Cluster (VS0) drops traffic (on the Clean Up rule) that a Virtual System in the Standby state sends to the Internet.

* Traffic from the same Virtual System in the Active state (on another VSX Cluster Member) passes correctly to the Internet.

## Cause

The Threat Extraction Software Blade is enabled and uses the Strict_Hold feature.

The Security Gateway (Virtual System) uses the Strict_Hold feature for Threat Extraction and occasionally for Anti-Virus deep inspection.

The Strict_Hold feature divides connections with Check Point Active Streaming (CPAS) instead of allowing them to stream. As a result, the Security Gateway (Virtual System) performs a more thorough examination of the connection content.

If the Security Gateway (Virtual System) detects a malicious file, it blocks it without the client receiving it.

In a VSX Gateway / VSX Cluster, the Strict_Hold feature also inspects the traffic of internal VSX networks by establishing a connection with VS0 and redirecting duplicate packets to it.
