## Cause

### Scenario 1

> Gaia OS was installed on a Virtual Machine that has more than one virtual hard disk.
>
> This configuration is not supported and causes incorrect partitioning.
>
> Example of a Virtual Machine that has two hard drives:
>
> ```

### Scenario 2

> Disk expansion capabilities in virtual infrastructure (such as VMware) were used to add disk space in Gaia OS.

> This configuration is not supported.

### Scenario 3

> Attempting to upgrade a CloudGuard Network Security **Azure/AWS** product to a later Gaia version fails with this error.
>
> A compatibility issue with the SWAP disk configuration and the upgrade image is present.
>
> An in-place upgrade cannot take place in this scenario
