# sk180738 - Media Encryption exclusion for an external media storage device does not work

## Symptoms

- Media Encryption exclusion for an external media storage device does not work.

## Cause

The Media Encryption policy is not configured correctly.  

The "**Block any data** " Write Policy overrides the exclusion, and the external storage device remains inaccessible. An exclusion cannot override the "Block any data" Write Policy.
