# sk180699 - Standby Cluster Member sends duplicate DHCP reply to Active Cluster Member when cluster is configured as DHCP Server

## Symptoms

- * When a High Availability Cluster is configured as a DHCP server, DHCP works as expected. However, SmartConsole logs show many DHCP drops.
* SmartConsole logs shows drop logs for traffic from the Standby Cluster Member to the Active Cluster Member for "`dhcp-rep-localmodule`" traffic.
* Output of verbose"`tcpdump`" shows that the Standby Cluster Member sends a DHCP reply to the Active Cluster Member with the same payload that the Active Cluster Member sent to the client network.

## Cause

The DHCP configuration on the Standby Cluster Member is missing, or is inconsistent with the DHCP configuration on the Active Cluster Member.

## Solution

Make sure that the DHCP configuration on the Standby Cluster Member matches the DHCP configuration on the Active Cluster Member.
