## Symptoms

- * When the Identity Awareness Gateway uses a wildcard certificate, Identity Collector does not trust the certificate.
* In the Identity Collector GUI \> **Gateways** menu \> Security Gateway object," after users click **Test** , "*Untrusted certificate - Please Initiate Trust*" error message appears.
* Identity Collector GUI \> **Gateways** menu \> Security Gateway object shows the certificate information with the certificate name.
* In some cases, the Security Gateway continues to receive events from Identity Collector.

## Cause

Identity Collector does not trust a wildcard certificate from a Security Gateway.

## Solution

Use a certificate that is not a wildcard certificate.
