## Symptoms

- When location awareness is configured through the global properties with an appropriate group, the client does not disable the VPN connection attempt.

## Cause

The client checks its location status, based on the logic that is applied through the **Location Awareness** group. If the connection lands on an interface that is not marked as "internal", then the client considers itself to be "outside" and the tunnel comes up.

To verify the behavior of the client, check the "helpdesk.log" file located on the client's machine:

*C:\\Program Files (x86)\\CheckPoint\\Endpoint Security\\Endpoint Connect\\helpdesk.log*
