## Symptoms

- * After upgrading the Multi-Domain Management Server(s), the upgrade of the Multi-Domain Log Server is stuck on "*Upgrading Products* " 58%, and in the upgrade's HTML, on "*Importing the Management Database* " ("*Importing System Data ...*").

* The network connectivity between the Multi-Domain Management Server and the Multi-Domain Log Server is working when verifying with "`ping`" and "`telnet`" to port 18221.

* On the Multi-Domain Management Server, the "`netstat`" command output shows no open session for the Multi-Domain Log Server's IP on port 18221.

* The Multi-Domain Log Server's CPM log file (*$MDS_FWDIR/log/cpm.elg* ) shows this message in a loop since the beginning of the upgrade stage: "*Waiting for FullSync X seconds*".

* The CPM log file of the Multi-Domain Management Server shows synchronization error messages with the name of the Multi-Domain Log Server: "*Failed to connect to the peer for domain*".

## Solution

Verify these steps:

1. The upgrade of the Primary Management Server completed successfully.
2. The Primary Management Server is up and running.
3. No Jumbo Hotfix or Private Hotfix is installed on the Primary Management Server.
4. The Multi-Domain Log Server you are trying to upgrade has a valid license.
5. Make sure you followed the [Installation and Upgrade Guide,](https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R81.20/WebAdminGuides/EN/CP_R81.20_Installation_and_Upgrade_Guide/Content/Topics-IUG/Getting-Started.htm) and updated the version of the Multi-Domain Log Server object:
   1. Connect with SmartConsole to the upgraded Primary Multi-Domain Management Server.
   2. From the left navigation panel, click **Multi-Domain** \> **Domains**.
   3. From the top toolbar, open the Multi-Domain Log Server object.
   4. From the left tree, click **General**.
   5. In the **Platform** section \> **Version**field, select the target version.
   6. Click **OK**.
