# sk180302 - "IP routing failed (bridge routing failure)" error in Security Gateway logs

## Symptoms

- * "IP routing failed (bridge routing failure)" error in Security Gateway logs "Message Information" field.

* Traffic fails to transverse the Security Gateway.

## Cause

If the Gaia Security Gateway has a bridge interface containing one or more interfaces acting as a switch and the bridge interface has an IPv4 address configured.

The Security Gateway drops traffic from the network devices that use the IPv4 address as a next hop gateway with the text: "IP routing failed (bridge routing failure)" in the firewall logs.
