## Symptoms

- Solr indexes that are stored in */var/log/opt/CPrt-\<Version\>/log_indexes/* directory are not deleted by maintenance routine, although the symbolic link that pointing to these indexes are deleted.

## Cause

On a Management Server, Solr directories are stored in the */var/log/opt/CPrt-\<Version\>/log_indexes/* directory.

When you upgrade a Management Server, the indexes stay in the same directory (of the previous version).

Symbolic links point to these indexes from the new directory (of the new version).

Therefore, the */var/log/opt/CPrt-R81.20/log_indexes/* directory contains symbolic links to directories in the */var/log/opt/CPrt-R81.10/log_indexes/* directory.

A code limitation in R81.20 Early Availability versions and some R81.10 versions cause the maintenance routine to delete only the symbolic links and not the actual directory containing the indexes.

## Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included starting from:

* [Check Point R81.20 (Titan)](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk170416)
* [R81.10 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator](https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/Jumbo_HFA/R81.10/Default.htm) starting from Take 79

Check Point recommends to always upgrade to the most recent version
([upgrade Security Gateway](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doShowproductpage&productTab=overview&product=435) / [upgrade Security Management Server](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doShowproductpage&productTab=overview&product=184) / [upgrade Multi-Domain Security Management](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doShowproductpage&productTab=overview&product=166)).
