# sk180257 - HTTP/2 websites do not work when the Strict Hold feature is enabled on a Security Gateway

| OS | Gaia |

## Symptoms

- * Certain websites that function only on HTTP/2 protocol cannot be accessed.

* The webpage shows the HTTP Error 464.

* The website can be reached when using HTTPS Bypass in the HTTPS Inspection policy.

* Developer Tools in the web browser show that the website is using the HTTP2 protocol:

  `"request": {`

  `"method": "GET",`

  `"url": "https://XXXXXX",`

  `"httpVersion": "http/2.0"`

## Cause

The limitation is with HTTP2 while the Security Gateway uses the Strict Hold mode (see [sk183840](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk183840)).

If a website must work with HTTP2, it is not possible, because the Security Gateway forces the traffic to be downgraded to HTTP1.1.
