## Symptoms

- Query for range of values in SmartLog returns results outside the specified range.

For example, a search for logs with traffic port numbers between 400 and 500 (`port:400-500`) also shows logs with the traffic port number 49545.

## Cause

Currently, the data from log fields is stored as text strings. Therefore, the search in this data is lexicographical.
