# sk179852 - "Log Sharing encountered an internal error with the Log Exporter. Refer to sk179852." message in SmartConsole "Log Sharing" section

## Symptoms

- "*Log Sharing encountered an internal error with the Log Exporter. Refer to sk179852.*" message in SmartConsole \> "Infinity Services" view \> "Data Sharing" section \> "Log Sharing" section.

## Solution

In case the error referenced is "Error code: 21" the issue is cosmetic and will be fixed in a future hotfix. For other error codes, please follow these steps:  

To use Log Sharing, it is necessary to delete the current Log Exporter called "laas":

1. Connect with SmartConsole to the Security Management Server / applicable Domain Management Server.

2. From the left navigation panel, click the **Infinity Services** view.

3. In the bottom section **Data Sharing** , in the section **Log Sharing** , click **Edit**.

4. In the **Configure Log Sharing** window:

   1. Click the **ON** button.

      It must change to the **OFF** button.
   2. Click **OK**.

5. Connect to the command line on the Management Server.

6. Log in to the Expert mode.

7. On a Multi-Domain Security Management Server, go to the content of the applicable Domain Management Server:

   `mdsenv <IP Address or Name of Domain Management Server>`
8. Delete the current Log Exporter called "laas":

   * On Security Management Server, run:

     `cp_log_export delete name laas --apply-now`
   * On a Multi-Domain Security Management Server, run:

     `cp_log_export delete name laas domain-server <Name of Domain Management Server> --apply-now`
9. In SmartConsole, in the bottom section **Data Sharing** , in the section **Log Sharing** , click **Edit**.

10. In the **Configure Log Sharing** window:

    1. Click the **OFF** button.

       It must change to the **ON** button.
    2. Click **OK**.

11. The **Log Sharing** section must show the status **Active**.
