# sk179788 - Access Roles with groups/users from Azure AD object are not enforced when using Remote Access VPN with SAML

## Symptoms

- * After configuring SAML authentication according to [sk172909: 
  SAML authentication in Remote Access VPN clients](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk172909) and successfully connecting, there is no access to internal resources.
* In SmartConsole \> "Logs \& Monitor" view, it is possible to see that access roles with "specific user/groups" from Azure AD object are not enforced for Remote Access VPN users, and the traffic falls on the cleanup rule.
* Only access roles with "any user", and possibly groups with EXT_ID_ prefix, are matched to Remote Access VPN users, and provide access to internal resources.
* While connected to the client, no assigned groups show when entering this command on the gateway: \[Expert@FW\]# pdp m i

## Cause

The Security Gateway fails to retrieve the users from the Identity Provider.
