## Symptoms

- * Management Server fails to send a scheduled report to a Microsoft 365 email through smtp.office365.com

* The *$RTDIR/log/smartview.log* file on the Management Server contains one of these errors:

  * *SMTPClientAuthenciation is disabled for the tenant*

  * *SendAsDenied; XXXX@\<server\> not allowed to send as YYYY@\<server\>*

  Example:

  `com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPSendFailedException: 554 5.2.252 SendAsDenied; XXXX@<server> not allowed to send as YYYY@<server>;`
  `
STOREDRV.Submission.Exception:SendAsDeniedException.MapiExceptionSendAsDenied; Failed to process message due to a permanent exception with message [BeginDiagnosticData]Cannot submit message.`

## Cause

* Office 365 requires that "`SMTPClientAuthentication`" be enabled for a user that is authenticating to the server like this.
This setting is not enabled for the affected user.
* Office 365 requires that the user sending the email is the same user that is authenticating to the Office 365 SMTP server.
