## Symptoms

- There is traffic impact after an upgrade from R80.20SP to R81.10 on a Scalable Platform Security Group with ixgbe NIC and MTU configuration.

## Cause

This issue applies **only** to Intel 82599ES NIC (ixgbe) drivers.

The maximum MTU value for an ixgbe driver in R80.20SP is larger than the maximum MTU value for an ixgbe driver in newer versions. When you change the MTU on an interface, it automatically sets the MTU on the BPEth interface to the maximum.

After the upgrade from R80.20SP, the new version (R81.10) does not support or apply the MTU value of BPEth interfaces. All the MTU values are set to the default (1500).
