# sk179485 - VPN traffic is dropped with "IP routing failed"

## Symptoms

- * VPN traffic is not encrypted even when respective addresses are present in encryption domain.
* Traffic is dropped with "`IP routing failed (ipout routing failure)`" message.
* Running "`ip route get x.x.x.x`" to designated VPN address returns "`Network Unreachable`"

## Cause

There is no route for designated VPN traffic on the Security Gateway.
