# sk179307 - "bad parameter" error - Gaia Clish is  unresponsive when configuring scheduled backup

## Symptoms

- * After users configure a scheduled backup of a Security Gateway /Management Server / Multi-Domain Server to a remote SCP server, this error message appears:

  ```
  
  Gaia add backup-scheduled name Backup scp ip x.x.x.x path /home/admin username ****** password *******
  bad parameter.
  ```

* After the error message appears, Gaia Clish becomes unresponsive.
* Manually restarting the `confd` process fixes the issue. However, the scheduled backup does not happen. Example of how to manually restart the `confd` process:

  ```
  
  [Expert@HostName]# tellpm process:confd
  [Expert@HostName]# tellpm process:confd t
  ```

## Cause

The Security Gateway / Management Server / Multi-Domain Server that runs Gaia OS cannot communicate with the remote SCP server. This can be caused by a Check Point issue or by a non-Check Point issue.
