## Symptoms

- * The log records in SmartConsole from a Security Gateway / Cluster Member do not contain the numbers of the applicable Security Policy rules for specific traffic.

* In the */var/log/messages* file on the Security Gateway / Cluster Members these lines repeatedly appear for the same specific traffic:

  `Date Time GW_HostName kernel: [fwX_0];[Source_IP:Source_Port -> Dest_IP:Dest_Port] [ERROR]: fwdnd_log_info_lookup: UUID XXXX not found in hash`
  `
  Date Time GW_HostName kernel: [fwX_0];[Source_IP:Source_Port -> Dest_IP:Dest_Port] [ERROR]: network_classifiers_dnd_fill_log_objs: fwdnd_log_info_lookup failed`
  `
  Date Time GW_HostName kernel: [fwX_0];[Source_IP:Source_Port -> Dest_IP:Dest_Port] [ERROR]: network_classifiers_dnd_get_log_info: network_classifiers_dnd_fill_log_objs failed`
  `
  Date Time GW_HostName kernel: [fwX_0];[Source_IP:Source_Port -> Dest_IP:Dest_Port] [ERROR]: network_clobs_logger_dnd_send_general_log: network_classifiers_dnd_get_log_info failed`
  `
  Date Time GW_HostName kernel: [fwX_0];[Source_IP:Source_Port -> Dest_IP:Dest_Port] [ERROR]: up_logger_send_general_log: send_unified_general_log failed to logger 3 DnD Objects`
  `
  Date Time GW_HostName kernel: [fwX_0];[Source_IP:Source_Port -> Dest_IP:Dest_Port] [ERROR]: up_unified_log_handle_syn_logs: up_logger_send_general_log for DnD Objects`
  `
  Date Time GW_HostName kernel: [fwX_0];[Source_IP:Source_Port -> Dest_IP:Dest_Port] [ERROR]: up_unified_log_send_network_chain_log: up_unified_log_handle_syn_logs failed`
  `
  Date Time GW_HostName kernel: [fwX_0];[Source_IP:Source_Port -> Dest_IP:Dest_Port] [ERROR]: up_manager_create_net_log: up_unified_log_send_network_chain_log failed`

## Cause

Chain of events:

1. When a Security Gateway connects to a device with the Dynamically Assigned IP address (DAIP), it may treat this device as a Dynamic \& Domain (DnD) Object.
2. The Security Gateway searches for the UUID of this object in its Dynamic Objects table and fails, because this is not a real Dynamic Object.
3. During such failure, the Security Gateway may not generate a log record correctly.
