# sk178405 - Newly added Security Group Member (SGM) continuously reboots and there are core dump files for the 'confd' process

## Symptoms

- * In a Security Group in VSX mode, a newly added Security Group Member (SGM) continuously reboots.

* The console session with this Security Group Member shows that the reboot occurs shortly after the "*Pulling VSX configuration from SM*" stage of the boot sequence.

* The */var/log/dump/usermode/* directory on this Security Group Member contains core dump files for the 'confd' process.

## Cause

The *confd* process unexpectedly exited while it tried to fetch the list of available interfaces from the Operating System (OS).

## Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:

A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing the Hotfix.
