## Symptoms

- * A CoreXL Secure Network Distributor (SND) shows high CPU usage.
* CPU Spike Detective logs (*/var/log/spike_detective* ) show high SND percentages for 3DES processes.   
  Examples of entries for 3DES processes in the CPU Spike Detective logs:  
  *? one_block_encrypt.constprop*   
  *? one_block_decrypt.constprop*
* In most cases, many VPN Remote Access users use the 3DES Encryption method.

## Cause

The 3DES encryption algorithm causes performance issues. The 3DES encryption algorithm is not preferred by Check Point software during a negotiation with any modern web browser. For more information, see <sk113114>.
