## Symptoms

- * Error during Endpoint Client security installation: "Unable to upgrade. The version of the Check Point Endpoint Security that already installed on your machine is higher than the one you are trying to install."
* The following error appears in the Endpoint Security Client installation log:   

  `DATE TIME Found application: {xxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxx}`   
  `DATE TIME Unable to upgrade. The version of the Check Point Endpoint Security that is already installed on your machine is higher than the one you are trying to install.`

## Cause

A key from a previous Endpoint Security Client installation has remained in the system registry.
