## Symptoms

- * After upgrade of a Security Management Server to R81.10 and modification of GUI clients, administrators cannot log in to SmartConsole.
* "*Internal Error Occurred*" appears in SmartConsole.
* The *cpm.elg* log file shows "*java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Could not parse \[XX\]*".

## Cause

One or more GUI client networks have subnet mask defined in CIDR notation. CIDR notation is not supported. Example of CIDR notation: *10.10.10.0/24*

## Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:

* [Check Point R81.20 (Titan)](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk170416)
* [Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R81.10](https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/Jumbo_HFA/R81.10/Default.htm) starting from Take 79

If you choose not to upgrade, do both of these procedures:

**Procedure 1 - Delete GUI client network(s) with subnet mask defined in CIDR notation (Example of CIDR notation: 10.10.10.0/24):**

1. On the CLI of the Security Management Server or Multi-Domain Management Server, enter `cpconfig` and press `Enter`.
The **Configuration Options** TUI menu opens.
2. Enter the number of the **GUI Clients** option and press `Enter`.
3. When prompted to **modify this list** , enter `y` and press `Enter`.
4. When prompted to **Create a new list, Add or Delete one** , enter `D` and press `Enter`.
5. Enter the IP address of the GUI client with subnet mask defined in CIDR notation and press `Enter`.
6. When asked **are you sure?** enter `y` and press `Enter`.
   The GUI client is deleted.
7. Repeat the previous steps in this procedure for all GUI clients with subnet mask defined in CIDR notation.

**Procedure 2 - Create new GUI client network(s) with subnet mask defined in subnet notation (Example of subnet notation: 10.10.10.0/255.255.255.0):**

1. On the CLI of the Security Management server, enter `cpconfig` and press Enter.
The **Configuration Options** TUI menu opens.
2. Enter the number of the **GUI Clients** option and press `Enter`.
3. When prompted to modify this list, enter `y` and press `Enter`.
4. When prompted to **Create a new list, Add or Delete one** , enter `A` and press `Enter`.
5. Enter the IP address of a GUI client in subnet notation and press `Enter`.
6. When asked **are you sure?** enter `y` and press `Enter`.
   The GUI client is created.
7. Repeat the previous steps in this procedure for the GUI client networks you deleted in Procedure 1.
