## Solution

Starting in Gaia OS R81.20, for security reasons, you must configure a password for the Gaia boot loader (GRUB2).

To configure your GRUB password, see the [Gaia Administration Guide](https://support.checkpoint.com/product/73#q="Gaia%20Administration%20Guide"&f-commonsource=C.%20Documentation) for your version \> chapter "System Management" \> section "System Passwords". If you cannot configure your GRUB password, [contact Check Point Support](https://www.checkpoint.com/support-services/contact-support/).

When you boot into the Maintenance Mode or revert Gaia snapshots, you must enter these credentials:

1. Username: `admin`
2. Password: The GRUB password you configured

**Important**- The paste functionality for the username or password in the GRUB console is restricted to a maximum of 16 characters. This limitation applies only to the paste action, not to manual typing.
