# sk177267 - SAML authentication fails to match user groups

## Symptoms

- * SAML authentication fails to match user groups.

  Errors:
  * `The user <USERNAME> is authenticated but not authorized to log in, because the User is not in a User Group`
  * `The user <USERNAME> is authenticated but not authorized to log in, because the user is not part of a User Group associated with the Remote Access community`
* Users fail to log in and match the `generic*` group instead of the required group.

* The `$FWDIR/log/vpnd.elg` or the `$FWDIR/log/cvpnd.elg` file on the Security Gateway contains these lines:


  `
  [PID][DATE TIME][CSamporLoginAsync] got login request from username: <USERNAME>`  
  `
  [PID][DATE TIME][CSamporLoginAsync] authenticated by idp: <IDENTITY-PROVIDER>`  
  `
  [PID][DATE TIME][CSamporLoginAsync] otp: (length 60)`  
  `
  [PID][DATE TIME][CSamporLoginAsync] 0 user groups received`

## Cause

Missing configuration on the Identity Provider (IdP) side.
