## Symptoms

- * Some software blades recognize the Security Zone of an interface as `Internal` even though the interface is defined in the Security Gateway topology as `DMZ`. For example, the Threat Extraction software blade does not inspect traffic on some or all networks behind interfaces defined as DMZ.
* The kernel debug (`fw ctl debug -m fw + conn drop vm if`) shows "`outzone[Internal]`" for affected traffic

## Cause

The affected network is assigned to different Security Zones in different interfaces. For example, in one interface the network is assigned to the `Internal` Security Zone, and in a different interface the network is assigned to the `DMZ` Security Zone. This causes the Security Gateway to mark the network zone `Internal` instead of `DMZ`.
