# sk177248 - Login to SmartConsole fails with message: "An internal error has occurred"

## Symptoms

- Login to SmartConsole fails with message: "*An internal error has occurred*"

## Cause

The GUI client definition was changed in version R81.10 and higher.

## Solution

**You can use any of these formats to add GUI Clients:**

* IP address.
* Machine name.
* "Any" - Any IP without restriction.
* IP/Netmask - A range of addresses, for example 192.168.10.0/255.255.255.0 or 2001::1/128.
* A range of addresses - for example 192.168.10.8-192.168.10.16 or 2001::1-2001::10.
* Wild cards (IPv4 only) - for example 192.168.10.\*
