# sk177085 - Endpoint Client performs re-negotiation more frequently than configured in SmartConsole VPN Community properties

## Symptoms

- Endpoint Client performs re-negotiation more frequently than configured in SmartConsole VPN Community properties

## Cause

The negotiation time of 60 minutes is hard-coded (cannot be configured) in Endpoint Clients E80.70 and higher versions.

Even if the negotiation time configured in SmartConsole VPN Community properties is longer than 60 minutes, based on [Responder Lifetime Notify Message for IKE](https://www.ietf.org/proceedings/53/I-D/draft-ietf-ipsec-ike-lifetime-00.txt) the Security Gateway responds to the Endpoint Client negotiation proposal.
