# sk176248 - Endpoint Security Client upgrade from E81.10 to E85.20 ends with "Error 1401. Could not create key \SOFTWARE\CheckPoint\Endpoint Security\Secure Uninstall" even though the Upgrade Patch is installed

## Symptoms

- * Upgrade of client from E81.10 to E85.20 ends with error 1401: 


  "`Error 1401. Could not create key \SOFTWARE\CheckPoint\Endpoint Security\Secure Uninstall`"

* Although the user installed the Upgrade Patch, the symptoms are equivalent to those in [sk171297](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk171297).

* *cpda.log* shows:  

  `
  Main Engine Returned 1603`  
  `
  Installation failed`  
  `
  `

* Console/WebUI shows:


  "`Could not create key \SOFTWARE\CheckPoint\Endpoint Security\Secure Uninstall. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel`"

## Cause

The SYSTEM account does not have full rights/permissions in this key:  

`SOFTWARE\WOW6432NOCE\CheckPoint\Endpoint Security\Secure Uninstall`
