## Symptoms

- * The user cannot open SmartConsole.
* The *CPM* process is down.

## Cause

When installing a R81 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator Take 17 and higher on a server where a previous Jumbo Hotfix occurred, the alignment of converted objects will run and delay the startup.
The *CPM* process needs to complete the procedure that fixes the database and then start.

## Solution

This behavior is expected. It is recommended to wait patiently until the *CPM* process is up and running.

To see the current status of CPM, run the following script. A status of "Check Point Security Management Server is running and ready" should indicate the CPM process is up.

**SMS**
*\[Expert@hostname:0\]# $FWDIR/scripts/cpm_status.sh*
*Check Point Security Management Server is running and ready*

**MDS** *\[Expert@hostname:0\]# $MDS_FWDIR/scripts/cpm_status.sh*
*Check Point Security Management Server is running and ready*
