## Symptoms

- * Certificate Signing process cannot be finalized when the "Complete" button is pressed in the VPN repository.
* Generating a Certificate Signing Request with a 3rd party Certificate Authority fails.
* The Certificate Signing vendor alters its certificate chain, which impacts existing certificate chain of trust for Certificate Authority object in SmartConsole.
* `"The new issue certificate does not match the enrollment request"` error is displayed.

## Cause

The existing certificate chain imported into Authority object in SmartConsole is different from the chain of the Server handling the new Certificate Signing Request.

Example:
Existing configuration is: Trusted CA \> Interoperable A \> Interoperable B \> Certificate

When certificate is signed: Trusted CA \> Interoperable A \>Certificate
