## Symptoms

- * Error message *"Security Policy Installation: Reached the Management Server but failed to initialize trusted communication.*" received when trying to establish SIC from the Quantum Spark appliance via the Security Management Server Configuration Wizard, after inserting the IP address of the Management Server and clicking Connect.

* Establishing SIC from a Quantum Spark appliance fails during a first deployment of SmartProvision / SmartLSM after creating a SmartLSM profile in the SmartConsole and a ROBO object in the SmartProvision Dashboard. Establishing SIC is successful if you remove the ROBO object and create the Quantum Spark appliance as a regular gateway in SmartConsole.

## Cause

The appliance's host name ("hostname") must be identical to the LSM device name as defined in the SmartProvision dashboard.

## Solution

Make sure the Quantum Spark hostname is identical to the Object name in the SmartProvision Dashboard.

Workaround:

1. On the Quantum Spark appliance, set the SIC to be established later on the Management Server.
2. On the SmartProvision Dashboard, in the **Communication** settings, add the current IP address of the Quantum Spark appliance and push the SIC from the Management Server to the Quantum Spark appliance.
3. Verify that SIC is established successfully.
