# sk175423 - samp rules still drop traffic after the traffic is normalized

## Symptoms

- * After traffic is normalized with SAMP Rule, traffic is still dropped.
* The "Violation Limit" is still enforced when checked with the command `fwaccel dos rate counters` but the Connections are normalized.
* Output of the command `fwaccel dos rate counters` shows:

  ```
  
  Max Concurrent Connections: 30000
  New Connection Rate: unlimited
  Packet Rate: unlimited
  Byte Rate: unlimited
  Max Concurrent Connections Ratio: unlimited
  New Connection Rate Ratio: unlimited
  Packet Rate Ratio: unlimited
  Byte Rate Ratio: unlimited
  Action: drop
  Log Type: regular
  Concurrent Connections: 210
  Connection Rate: 140
  Packets: 137
  Bytes: 20614
  Violated Limits: connections
  ```

## Cause

This is caused by a race condition that can occur on the rate limit mechanism.
