# sk175403 - Software Blades fail to update on Locally Managed Spark Firewall with error message "An internal error has occurred while accessing the database"

## Symptoms

- Software Blades fail to update with error message: "An internal error has occurred while accessing the database"

## Cause

Update process for the Software Blades fails because the appliance is unable to reach the Check Point update services or to resolve the updates' URLs.

## Solution

This issue is relevant to locally managed Quantum Spark appliances only.  

Change the primary DNS server to 8.8.8.8 (Google DNS):

1. In the WebUI, go to **Device** \> **DNS** \> **IPv4 DNS Servers** \> **Configure DNS Server**s.
2. In the field for **First DNS Server** , enter `8.8.8.8`.
3. Click **Apply**.
