# sk175267 - Unable to delete a Security Gateway object

## Symptoms

- * Attempting to delete a Security Gateway object leads to a validation error.
* "Where used" for the Security Gateway object does not show any usages except for gatewayStaticProfilesConfiguration.
* The Security Gateway currently has or had IPS enabled in the past.
* This error shows in the *$FWDIR/log/cpm.elg* :

## Cause

The object is used in installation targets under **IPS Scheduled Update** \> **On successful IPS update on the Security Management Server, install policy on the Security Gateway**. This could be an issue even if the feature is no longer enabled.
