# sk174867 - Cannot add a Wildcard Network Object to any policy rulebase other than Access Policy

## Symptoms

- * When users add a Wildcard Network Object to a policy rulebase (other than the Access Policy), the Validation Error appears: "Field Source references invalid objects".
* Publishing of the SmartConsole session fails due to the Validation error.
* Using the same Wildcard Network Objects in the Access Policy rulebase works without any errors.

## Solution

This is an expected behavior.  
The use of Wildcard Network Objects is only supported in the Access Policy (unified policy).  
This applies both to direct usage and indirect usage (a Wildcard Network Object inside a Network Group Object).
