# sk174486 - Hostname translation changes Mobile Access portal  URL.

## Symptoms

- * The customer has a DNS server that is configured to translate the following FQDNs to the Gateway's IP: example.com \*.example.com
* In Mobile Access Portal Settings, when the URL is set in one of the following ways: \*.example.com example.com The console is showing the following error: 'Hostname is not a valid FQDN or IP'.
* If the portal URL is set to: portal.example.com In PT environment: Everything works, the customer can access the portal via "portal.example.com". In HT environment: The browser will be redirected to portal.portal.example.com.
