# sk174464 - Cannot edit IoT policy layer

## Symptoms

- Cannot edit IoT Policy Layer or its objects.

## Cause

To improve UX of customers with IoT, editing of IoT components from SmartConsole was restricted. The components can be edited from Infinity Next cloud console only.

Technically, all objects tagged with "read-only: IoT Next" tag become read-only objects in SmartConsole.
