## Symptoms

- When the Secure Domain Logon (SDL) feature is enabled, the VPN disconnects at Windows logoff, and the Roaming User Profile is not sent back to AD server, resulting in its not being synchronized.

## Cause

### What is the Windows Roaming User Profile?

A Roaming User Profile lets you copy the user-based filesystem and HKEY_CURRENT_USER Registry hive to a defined network location at logoff (usually a user's home drive area or a dedicated profiles share). This data is then copied back to the user's %USERPROFILE% area at logon for a consistent user experience across sessions and devices. ### **Errors**

When you log off from Windows while you are connected to VPN and while Secure Domain Logon (SDL) is enabled, you will see the errors below:

"`Your roaming user profile was not completely synchronized. See the event log for details or contact administrator.`"

!["](https://sc1.checkpoint.com/sc/SolutionsStatics/sk174244/your-roaming-user-profile-was-not-completely-synchronized202106291256301.jpeg)
"`We can't sign into your account. This problem can often be fixed by signing out of your account and then signing back in. If you don't sign out now, any files you create or changes you make will be lost.`"

Because the Active Directory is accessible through VPN with SDL enabled, the Roaming User Profile will not be sent to AD Server when the VPN is disconnected.

## Solution

This is an expected behavior: The VPN tunnel goes down after a user logs off.
